How Do I Apply?

How do apply to the TCNJ/SUNY 7-year optometry program?

Before you begin make sure you meet the requirements for application.

Option #1: Complete the TCNJ on-line application (includes financial aid information). You do not need any other application forms.

OR

Option #2: Contact the Admissions Office for a paper copy.

The application is usually available by late July and you need to be aware of the strict deadline for the 7-year Optometry Program. Be sure to complete all the application requirements, including the general essay. The major code for the 7-year Optometry Program, Biology Major is BIOP. If you submit a “common application,” please write “7-year Optometry Program, Biology Major (BIOP)” in the space for “possible areas of concentration/major.”

There is no early decision process for the 7-year Optometry Program, but The College of New Jersey does have an early decision program (deadline). It is your responsibility to check with the Admissions Office, or online, on the status of your application file. You cannot be considered for the 7-year Optometry Program directly from high school until your file is complete (postmarked by the deadline).

Check the Program FAQ and Admission Requirements for more information.

NOTE: Please remember that your admission to The College of New Jersey is handled separately from that to the 7-year Optometry Program. Dr. Nayak is not involved with admission to The College or granting of financial aid. It is critically important that you DO NOT send any materials directly to Dr. Nayak as this will only cause delays in the processing of your application.
