The minor in Biology consists of completing five course units, as specified below. The minimum GPA for retention and completion of the minor is the same as for the major. A minimum of three biology courses for the minor must be taken at TCNJ.
Requirements
Core (3 course units)
BIO 201/Foundations of Biological Inquiry
Select two of the following:
- BIO 211/Cell Biology and Biochemistry (formerly named Biology of the Eukaryotic Cell).
- Please note that CHE 201, which has a pre/co-requisite of MAT 120, is a pre-requisite of BIO 211.
- BIO 221/Ecology and Field Biology
- BIO 231/Genetics
- Please note that BIO 211 is a prerequisite for BIO 231
Options (2 course units)
Select two additional UNITS of biology option courses, of which no more than one may be transfer credit from another institution.
While the majority of Biology options courses are one unit each, please note the BioConnections (BIO 372) courses are only a half unit each.
